Where are my notebooks kept?
Without an account, on your computer, and nowhere else. If you sign in, they are also kept on Deltella’s server, in Germany, so they reach your other computers and can be shared. The privacy page says exactly what is kept where.
Can Deltella read my notebooks?
On your account they are not end-to-end encrypted, so the server, and whoever runs it, could. They are never read for anything but keeping them for you, with one exception: if someone reports a notebook or board you shared, the person deciding the report may open it through its link, as anyone with the link could.
How do share links work?
Share gives a notebook or board two links: one to edit and one to view. Anyone with a link can open it, with no account, so give links only to the people you mean to. New links stop the old ones working straight away, and Stop sharing stops both. A link opens only what it was made for, never the rest of your account.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. It removes your account, your sign-ins, and everything on it. Notebooks only on your computer stay there. For each notebook or board you shared, you can choose to keep it up for the people with the link.
How do I keep my own copy?
Back up all notebooks, in the menu at the foot of the left-hand rail (your initials, or a person when signed out), saves every notebook and board as one file. Restore from a backup brings them back.
What if Deltella shuts down?
You will be told by email at least 30 days before, to take a copy of what is on your account (terms). Notebooks on your computer stay there and remain yours.
Is it on iPad, Mac, or my phone?
Deltella is a Windows app, with a Linux app too. On an iPad, a Mac, or a phone, open boards.deltella.com in the browser and add it to your home screen. A Mac app and an iPad app are planned.
How do I report something on a shared board?
On the board, open the menu beside its name and choose Report this board. It starts an email to abuse@deltella.com with the board’s link in it; say what is wrong with it. Or write to that address yourself with the link. A person reads every report and tells you what was decided. How reports are handled is in the terms.
Something is not working
In the app, Report a problem, in the menu at the foot of the left-hand rail, shows a short record of what went wrong, kept on your computer. Copy it into an email to gavin@deltella.com with what you were doing.
